ChancEd is able to facilitate access to education to thousands of children and youngsters throughout the years. Almost two thousands of them were able to complete the basic education and many were able to continue higher education either by school scholarships, assistance from family members and as working students. In this section, we will feature some of those who exited ChancEd program so as to give you short updates on how they are doing so far.

Present Occupation: Teacher in one of the remote villages in Calbayog District . He was a volunteer teacher for Alternative Learning.

Status: Still single & lives with his family/parents.

Name: Dave Jones Rosellas

Degree/Course Completed: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

Present Occupation: Junior Accountant at a Stockbroker Company

Status: Works in Manila and still single

Name: Jenny Torres

Degree/Course Completed: Bachelor of Science in Community Development

Present Occupation: Item Head at Centro dept. store

Status: Married & has a child

Name: Rizza Ladrero

Degree/Course Completed: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Development at the University of the Philippines as a scholar (undergraduate)

Present Occupation: Customer Service Representative at APAC Customer Services, Cebu City

Status: Married early 2018 & had a lovely baby girl.

Name: Nelin Barandino

Degree/Course Completed: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the University of the Philippines (4th year)

Present Occupation: Still studying.

Status: Single and still studying in Tacloban City

I am Nelin Barandino. I live in Calbayog City, Philippines. All throughout my four years of schooling in high school, ChancEd gave me a great privilege to be one of their scholars. It had helped me a lot because I don’t have to worry about my school expenses and I had more time on my studies. And the same thing was felt by my parents because the burden of sustaining expenses of sending to the school of two college students and one high school student was lessened. It’s because they don’t have to put concern about my school expenditures. And thanks to ChancEd because it had been a great contributor for me to graduate high school with flying colors. And now I will be in my third-year college student at the University of the Philippines Tacloban taking up a degree on BS Accountancy. I am a scholar here through the school STS Program. And I am happy to know that ChancEd is still serving to help students to continue schooling through the help of ever generous sponsors. I pray and I hope that through the years, there’ll be more sponsors that will use ChancEd as the instrument to help more and more students to come to school despite and in spite of poverty they are facing ( Nelin, July 7, 2016)

Status: Still single. Jessamay lost both her parents to cancer. She is still living in her parents’ home with her aunt, uncle & nephew. Fortunately, she was able to secure college education by working at the University.
